Bryant – Bible Survey Syllabus
Teacher: Dr. Robert Bryant
Dr. Robert A. Bryant is the Kristen Herrington Professor of Bible and Chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Along with Bible Survey courses, he teaches upper-level New Testament courses, Biblical Greek, and a range of special courses on topics such as religious fanaticism and environmentalism. He received his B.S. degree from Virginia Tech and his M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. He has taught at Union Theological Seminary, been a Visiting Scholar at Duke University, and served as a Visiting Professor of Religion and New Testament at the Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe in Germany. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Dr. Bryant has served churches as Pastor and Supply Pastor in the Synods of the South Atlantic (South Carolina and Georgia) and the Mid-Atlantic (North Carolina and Virginia). He is the author of The Risen Crucified Christ in Galatians, The Gospel of Matthew: God With Us, First Corinthians: One in Christ and has written numerous articles and lectured extensively. He has also been active in lay schools of theology and contributed to the development of Christian Education curricula. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking, canoeing, and bird watching. He and his family live in Clinton, South Carolina.
