Summer Camp 2020

Summer Camp is a Ministry of the Presbytery’s Education & Training Ministry Team

Howdy Y’all,

We thought this might happen. You probably did too. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Savannah Presbytery Summer Camp at New Ebenezer scheduled for July, 20-24, 2020 won’t be going forward as planned. It was a tough call, but it was the right call.

But you know what we’re great at? Switching it up. Creativity, fun, adapting ministry when it all goes haywire. So we’re not gonna leave you in the lurch, but we are going to focus our energy, strength and hope on our future gatherings.

To that end, we have begun plans for a Youth Connect (rising 7th-12th) at our Faith Enrichment Conference on February, 5-6, 2021.

Beforehand however, we would like to ask your help on a couple of items:

  1. We want to make a promotional video from your camp pics and videos so please send your recent (last couple of years) camp pics and videos to the following addresses by June 1, 2020:                                       Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pPDJ2GyW4MY7ErbUA    Videos: Wetransfer.com (go to the site) send videos to me: nat@sspres.org from the site.
  1.  We will host a Zoom meeting for campers to get together and say hi on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 during the evening at either 8PM, 10PM or Midnight. Help us decide what time works best! Vote for Zoom Meeting time: choose – 8:00 PM, 10:00 PM or 12:00 PM (reply to Nat Scott at his email- nat@sspres.org).

Finally, the dates for Summer Camp next year are July 18-23, 2021. In the meantime, know that you are loved and cared for.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact us!

Blessings,

Nat and Marty

RESIDENT CAMPS

Youth Resident Camp
Rising 7th graders – graduated 12th grade
Youth camp is a high energy mix of fun, fellowship, and friendship as campers share meals, enjoy the outdoors, play, learn, and worship together.  This year we will spend time in camp, have a mission activity at America’s Second Harvest in Savannah, and canoe on a creek near Ebenezer.

Elementary Resident Camp
Rising 3rd & 6th graders
Elementary campers get to enjoy a wide variety of camping fun. We start each day with morning prayer, then hit the ground running! At camp we have Bible study, art-n-crafts, a talent show, and dance. We swim, hike, canoe, play games, and fish. At night we have special activities like a camp fire and crazy olympics.

Family Camp
Rising 2nd graders and younger with an adult family member
Learn about all the fun that can be had at Savannah Presbytery Summer Camp. Children enjoy sleeping in bunk beds, Bible study, crafts, outdoor recreation, swimming in the pool, and sharing meals in the dining hall.  A campfire, complete with s’mores and songs, is a memorable experience.
