Dear Families,

We are excited to open the registration for Savannah Presbytery’s 2019 summer camp season (June 17-21).  We invite you to consider camp as a wonderful growth opportunity for those who attend.

It is amazing how life changing these summer days along the Savannah River can be.  When people come together and seek to live by the values of the Kingdom of God, camp becomes a thin place between heaven and earth.  In just a few, very full days at New Ebenezer Retreat Center in Rincon, we experience creation as God intended.  We commit to loving others as God has loved us; we commit to seeing Jesus in one another; and we renew our covenant with God’s creation as we reconnect with the great outdoors.  It is no wonder that it is so hard to leave, to say “goodbye” to those people who have shared with us a taste of the Kingdom: seeking justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with God (and each other!).

We have both attended many church camps and retreats and look forward to making this a great camp week for you.  The enclosed packets you may have received in the mail and/or links above give you all the information you need.  All registration materials and payments should be returned to the office of Savannah Presbytery.  Should you have registration questions, please contact Deanie at:  deanie@spires.org or 912-223-2271.  If you have questions about the programs during the week, contact Proctor at:  rproctor1949@gmail.com or 478-595-2540.  If you would like to volunteer as a camp counselor, call either of us!

If past experience is any indication, your comper will make memories at New Ebenezer that will last a lifetime.

Grace and Peace,

Proctor Chambless                                                                                                                  Deanie Strength                                                                                                                      Co-Directors

RESIDENT CAMPS

Youth Resident Camp
Rising 7th graders – graduated 12th grade
Youth camp is a high energy mix of fun, fellowship, and friendship as campers share meals, enjoy the outdoors, play, learn, and worship together.  This year we will spend time in camp, have a mission activity at America’s Second Harvest in Savannah, and canoe on a creek near Ebenezer.

Elementary Resident Camp
Rising 3rd & 6th graders
Elementary campers get to enjoy a wide variety of camping fun. We start each day with morning prayer, then hit the ground running! At camp we have Bible study, art-n-crafts, a talent show, and dance. We swim, hike, canoe, play games, and fish. At night we have special activities like a camp fire and crazy olympics.

Family Camp
Rising 2nd graders and younger with an adult family member
Learn about all the fun that can be had at Savannah Presbytery Summer Camp. Children enjoy sleeping in bunk beds, Bible study, crafts, outdoor recreation, swimming in the pool, and sharing meals in the dining hall.  A campfire, complete with s’mores and songs, is a memorable experience.
